Whether style, power or speed, Merc9 is about racing well -- getting the most from possibilities. The concept was born from the number 9 racing Mercury designed and run by Robison Racing, Inc. The car was originally a NASCAR racer in the early ‘70s and had been retired as junk in the ‘90s. A few years ago Robison brought it back to life to see what could come from combining a legacy of the golden era of big-bore stock car racing with some modern touches. What emerged is a 555 cubic inch monster that may be the fastest two-ton road racer on the planet.

The Merc9 clothing boutique is an extension of the remarkable style that has evolved in the form of the Merc9 race car. A purchase from the Merc9 boutique helps to preserve the heritage of American hot-rodding in one of its purist forms – the road racing special, and in this case, the Robison Racing Merc9 special. Unlike most race cars these days, which are standard kit car interpretations of strict class rules, the Merc9 race car is handmade and absolutely one of a kind, with a Robison Racing chassis combined with a big block power plant, the likes of which have not been seen in road racing since the Can Am era. Merc9 is no vintage trophy queen or show car poser, but a strong and regular competitor in the West Coast racing scene; its brute power moves the heavy steel of a battleship-era stock car racer with stunning speed.

We are proud to have Alex Navarro, Ricky LaRocca and Joshua Waters sporting our apparel. All three are professional trainers at Body Mechanix in San Francisco. Both Ricky and Josh compete in Strongest Man contests and Josh helps out as part of the Merc9 crew. Ricky is ranked sixth in U.S. amongst Strong Man contestants and known for incredible feats of strength, such as the Farmer's Walk, where he has carried more than 450 pounds in each hand for 50 feet (unofficial world record). It is no surprise that Alex is a top competitor in fitness contests, winning the 2008 California and U.S. Natural Fitness and Body Building Championships.

Our shirts and sweatshirts are 100% cotton. Our exclusive jackets are designed and made in San Francisco, of super tough 400 denier nylon - to sustain the most rigorous physical activity - with cotton liners to ensure maximum comfort.
